The handsome brick Tudor at 7420 Calhoun was built for $7,000 in 1929 by Anthony Bettey for Albert Goscieminski, age 42, born in Poland in 1887, and wife Bertha, age 35. They had three children. Albert was employed by Ford Motor Co. The home features leaded windows, arched doors, elegant rope plaster column archways, fancy solid maple moldings and doors, three-tiered plaster cove ceilings, elegant ceiling medallions, nautical wall reliefs, art deco lighting, a crystal chandelier, oak floors, and four spacious bedrooms. In 1932, it was owned by Anthony Mizgalski, age 44, who worked at Grant Brothers Foundry in Hamtramck, and was born in Poland in 1888. Wife Josephine (Blaszczak) was born in Poland in 1895. They had 6 children. Anthony died in 1944, age 56. Josephine lived as widow in the home until her death in 1977 at age 81. The home was vacant until purchased by W Hallinski, employed at Ford Motor Co. In 1983, it is owned by Carroll Ann Lalinsky and Mark Alan Lalinsky, an engineer at Ford Motor Co. In 1992, the home was deeded to Christine Lalinsky and husband, John Hett for $80,000. Hett published the Journal of Madness, a fanzine for Mad Magazine, published from 1952 to 2018. In 2004, it sold for $189,000 to Renee and Wesley Newman. Wes worked for his family's Dearborn, 100-year-old, Eppinger fishing lure business. They raised four children who all are engineers.

1929 Building Permit On May 13, 1929, the Dearborn Department of Public Works & Engineering, a Division of Building & Safety, granted a building permit to Anthony Bettey of 6842 Bingham Ave, Dearborn, to erect a 2 story residence building with brick veneer and frame external walls to be located at 7420 Calhoun Ave. on the East side of the street between Gould Ave. and Diversey Street at Lot No. 1615 Aviation Field. Sub. Lot size: 40x120. Building size is to be WIDTH 25 feet, LENGTH 38 feet, HEIGHT 27 feet, for an Estimated Cost of $7,000. Fee $3.80. This permit is granted on the express condition that said construction shall, in all respects, conform to the Ordinances of the City of Dearborn, regulating the construction of buildings, and may be revoked at any time upon the violation of any of the provisions of said ordinances. Bertha was born on 30 Sep 1895 in Detroit, Michigan, USA [1] In the 1900 census, Bronislawa (age 4), was the daughter of Helena Brzena in Detroit Ward 16, Detroit, Wayne, Michigan.[2] Bronislawa (Bertha) Gosciminski, formerly Brzezaj, aka Budziaszak. Bertha is the daughter of Czeslaw Brzezaj and Helen (Kukla) Ptak. Bertha is the sister of Leon Joseph Brzezan, Mary A. (Brzezaj) Burda, Ludwiga Brzezen, Apolonia Brzezen, Michael Brzezen, John Brzezan and Antonina Brzezan. Bronislowa (age 17), married Kasper Budziaszek., age 26, on May 6, 1912, in Van Buren Township or Detroit, Wayne, Michigan, USA.. Kasper is the son of Vincent & Frances Stcezko, [3 .[4] Bertha is the mother of Bernice Budziaszek and Helen Budziaszek. In the 1920 census, Bernice (age 25) was the wife of Casper Budziaszek in Detroit Ward 16, Detroit, Wayne, Michigan, United States. In the 1920 Census, Casper Budziaszek, a white male, 35, was married, head of the household, and was born in Poland. Bernice Budziaszek, 25, is a wife. Together, they have a 6 yo daughter, Bernice Budziaszek; a 5 yo daughter, Helen Budziaszek, and a newborn son, Edward Budziaszek. Sister. Lena Brzerzaj, 27 years old and single, also lives in the home.
In the 1930 census, Bertha, 35, is the wife of Albert Gosciminski, 42, in Dearborn, Wayne, Michigan.[6]; daughter Bernice Budziazek is 17; daughter Helen Budziazek is 15; and daughter, Frances Budziazek is 9. In the 1940 census, Bertha, 44, is married to Albert, 53, in Dearbron; step-daughter Bernice Budzierzek, is 27 and single; stepdaughter, Helen Budzierzek, is 25 and Single; and stepdaughter, Frances Budzierzek, is 18 and single.[7] In the 1950 census, Bertha was 55, and still married to Albert Goscimenski in Dearborn [8]' Albert is 63, head of the household, and is a Helper Pin Press Roller from Poland; stepdaughter Helen Budzasyck, never married and worked as Training Peple Forather. Bertha died at age 59, in 1955 and was buried in Woodmere Cemetery in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan, USA.[9][10]. Bertha's headstone can be seen at Find a Grave.
